The guidebook is a self guided tour made for readers to learn Black women's history while exploring the hidden gems on the South Side of Chicago that their lives are connected to. Many of the women featured in the book were music artists and performers. This playlist invites you to listen to some of the most famous voices in history.
The playlist features multiple women from the book including: Mahalia Jackson, Koko Taylor, Lilian Hardin Armstrong, Minnie Riperton, and more!

When Lifting As They Climbed was originally published in March of 2018, there was a special edition of coloring pages created in honor of the guidebook. While the physical copies were only available for a limited amount of time, we have digital prints available here.
